Spent the day yesterday taking in the sights and sounds of Chinatown in Binondo, Manila during Chinese New Year. It always strikes me as interesting how multifaceted Filipino culture is and the festivities on Ongpin Street put that on full display yesterday. There were tons of people, fire breathers, dancers, more people, dragons, and did I mention there were lots of people there?
All in all, the food was fantastic, the company was great, and Chinese New Year in Chinatown was incredible.
Dumplings made to order right in front of you.
We went with some chives and pork dumplings.
And some pork and black fungus.
This pork asado is not from Dong Bei, but it was still really good and worthy of documentation.
